Ryan Fitzpatrick has been placed on injured reserve. So, what’s next for the Washington Football Team? Is Taylor Heinicke going to be QB1 in D.C.? Are they going to sign a veteran QB?
My vote would be to sign Cam Newton. Ron Rivera knows him well and knows he can lead a team to the Super Bowl. I am not saying the WFT is going to the Super Bowl, but Cam Newton said it best when he said there’s not 32 QBs in the league that are better than him. Newton is obviously not the same QB he was when he won the MVP in 2015 but he is still a better option than Heinicke.
If Rivera wants a veteran backup job Newton is willing to do that as well as he stated on his latest episode of Funky Friday that is posted on his YouTube channel. A link to the video is posted below. It will be interesting to see what the Washington Football Team does at the QB position but if you ask me Newton is the best option on the market and would be an immediate improvement at the position. If Heinicke was ready to be the starter they would have never signed Ryan Fitzpatrick. What do you think?
